It seems property taxes will eventually rise to keep the escapade going. Government jobs, payrolls – all depend on that. That the need for property tax appeal consulting course training given the 50%+ over-assessment factor in the U.S.
Where I grew up, property taxes were miniscule. But over time, the over-budgeting to the elected/police/internal structures/educational/medical/social welfare/etc. for my town – left many taxpayers, poorer.
Back when I was a youngster, few women worked. There was no need to when one man working could more than support a family. Back then they say it took about 3 months of salary to buy a new car. In 1965 the sticker price of a brand new V-8 powered Ford Mustang coupe was $2,734.00.
Later, in a college economics class, I learned about the Economies Of Scale rule. The definition of that rule was that efficiency is gained by consolidating similar projects under one roof. Instead of having to pay the multiple overhead costs for many “roofs” for those engaged in similar projects, economies of scale will bring prices down by having one roof of consolidation governing projects. Economies of scale worked in business, NOT so in government, unfortunately.
Recently came across information concerning the over transfer of wealth and out of control deficit spending by the Federal Reserve has led to U.S. consumer prices growth exceeding estimates in July. Core consumer prices have showed their biggest increase since January of 1991, partly reflecting another jump in prices for motor vehicle insurance, which skyrocketed by 9.3 percent in July after spiking by 5.1 percent in June. Prices for shelter, communication, used cars and trucks, and medical care also increased in July, while prices for recreation declined.
A single rain shower doesn’t make for a flood, nor does a single month of wild price increases mean that consumer price inflation is in the works. But for today, we’re watching the weather.
No matter what the weather, property tax over-assessments are a fact. It’s better for you to spend those over-assessed dollars than the government doing that for you.
Eventually raising taxes will be forced to make up for revenue shortfalls. If one were to engage in helping clients lower their property taxes you will have a wide-eyed audience.
